Over the weekend, internet reports were rife that iconic British photographer Corinne Day had passed away, as a result of a brain tumor. Regrettably, her death has since been confirmed; she died on the 27th of August, 4pm GMT, with her family beside her. An innovative and visionary artist whose images managed to be at once glamorous and grungy, both gritty and alluring, she was perhaps best known for launching the career of Kate Moss – then fourteen – via the now-defunct magazine The Face, and altering by proxy the way that fashion models look today.
Our thoughts are with her friends and family, but they can at least take some solace in one thing – she leaves a singularly impressive legacy behind.
