You can consider our interest piqued once again in the project Harmony Korine‘s undertaking with actor James Franco – the thinking man or woman’s crumpet, assuming he or she doesn’t think too hard about his performance in the Spiderman films – by these black and white behind-the-scenes images by photographer Adarsha Benjamin, which have been slinking their way around the blogosphere of late. We’d feign suprise that the creator of Gummo and the Oscar-nominated actor with a part on General Hospital appear, for some reason, to be working on an abstract adaptation of the feud between Biggie and Tupac, but what would be the point? We know they’re both mad as brushes, anyway. The film’s set to premiere at the Venice Biennale in June, so we’ll reserve our judgement until then. Who knows? Much like the pie that Franco eats in that cringe-inducing scene in Spiderman, it might even end up being “so good” we can barely believe it.
