  • The Music Room, 26 South Molton Lane

We are popping along to The Music Room gallery, on South Molton Lane tonight, where University College School’s Art Department will be presenting their first public exhibition, The Exit Strategy, under the watchful eye of the School’s Head of Art Alastair Gray: “Our aim is to demonstrate that the work of young artists can be as innovative, relevant and technically accomplished as the work currently seen at the forefront of contemporary art practice.”

It’s the first time senior art students will be displaying their art in an oh so professional manner, above Gray’s Antiques Market, in the rather la de da surroundings of Mayfair. We’re keen to cast our eyes on the students’ potential, not only as we like to get down with the kids and champion those making their first foray into the art world, but also because all the money they’ll raise from art sales will be donated to the Kids Company. It’s tough to be a kid these days, so we’d like to show our support to such budding creatives on the cusp of adulthood. We’ve been told that work on display will include video works, sculpture, painting and installation – sounds like we are in for a treat.

The exhibition will be open from 11 am to 5 pm daily.  Admission is free of charge and there will also be a collection for Kids Company.
