We don’t like to get too involved with politics here at Art Wednesday, but we do like to make a special effort to promote creativity that can help bring people together and make a difference to people’s lives. We therefore thought it was important to share a short film with you.

Saatchi & Saatchi Israel asked creatives from around the world to come up with ideas to help promote a greater understanding and inspire a new connection between Israelis and Palestinians.  Jean Christophe, from BTEC Paris, thought up the winning idea of a mutual Israeli-Palestinian blood bank.

‘Blood Relations’ is a film about the project. It’s short and sweet, and moved us to tears.

Last Thursday, alongside the offical screening of the film in London, Israeli and Palestinian students from various London universities donated their blood at the National Blood Service on Margaret Street, with the support of members of the Parents Circle Families Forum (PCFF), which is a joint Israeli/Palestinian organisation for people who have lost a close family member in the conflict.
