There’s something a bit jazzy about an 18 minute song. Okay, so it still falls short of Miles Davies’ whopping 27 minute ‘Bitches Brew’, but the word ‘experimental’ is starting to lose its impact with the amount it’s bounded around in the music press these days. So yes, Pyramid Vritra’s 6 song debut album might be a little ‘experimental’, but it’s also ‘jazzy’ – you know, far-out and peculiar! As a member of the column-hogging Odd Future, Pyramid Vritra aka Hal Williams has already been a part of something huge, not to mention his involvement with the Jet Age of Tomorrow, the Super 3 and NRK – not a bad little portfolio for someone who’s yet to break into his 20s. Yep, at just 19 he’s quite the prodigy – producing, rapping, and ripping up the rule book with an album that weaves dreamy, delirious down-tempo instrumentals and downright dirty vocal parts. We’re big fans here at Art Wednesday and fully appreciate the importance of sharing stories; so, with no further ado, here’s The Story of Marsha Lotus to stream in its entirety…
