When one receives an email pitching a possible collaboration just two days before the proposed shoot on foreign shores, the majority of people would probably shy away, claim they’re too busy and park the idea completely.

We are not those people. Especially when offered the chance to work with Anna Laub, Creative Director and Founder of Prism. And she’s certainly not one who’s shy of working, grafting or making things happen.

So we jumped at the opportunity to work with Prism, and set about pulling it all together; dividing up responsibilities, and somehow, with a bit of sheer determination, it all came together. The worst case scenario was if the shoot didn’t materialise, then we wouldn’t really care. As someone once said “you’ve gotta be in it, to win it”. With that in mind we crossed our fingers and went for it.

So here’s what happened…

Prism did a little ‘art happening’ at Art Basel Miami Public Art space on South Beach in collaboration with Art Wednesday to introduce AWE magazine and showcase Prism’s swimwear and eyewear in an amazing and creative setting. This involved Helmut Newton-inspired girls shot by Danielle Levitt, surrounded by sculptures from the likes of Anish Kapoor, Anthony Gormley and Damian Hirst. Not bad, we think, for a less than two day turnaround!
