‘A Place to Bury Strangers’ – a name that raises countless questions: ‘where do you bury them?’ and ‘why are you burying them in the first place?’ are just two that spring to mind. Another question though, and perhaps the most important one to ask is ‘are you listening to this band?’ and if not, why not?! The New York post-punkers have had a slight line-up re-jig so are back with a new EP to re-announce themselves to the world ahead of a UK tour, which is in the pipeline for this Spring. Here at Art Wednesday we’ve been following these guys since way back when, so you can only imagine our reaction when we heard they were making some new music, never mind when we found out they were giving it away!
It doesn’t look like ‘A Place to Bury Strangers’ will be letting their new recruit go unnoticed either. Dion Lunadon’s raw and driven bass playing gives the band a bit of added ‘oomph’, and as we mentioned, they’re very generously giving away one fifth of the upcoming EP as proof of this, and as a taste of what’s to come. Below is the link to the track ‘So Far Away’ from the EP, which can be downloaded for free (right click and ‘Save Target As…’) and enjoy to your heart’s content. If that’s not enough to keep you going until the new EP comes along, then we’d recommend getting hold of their 2009 album ‘Exploding Head’ and listening to it on repeat to satisfy your cravings. Well, that’s what we’re doing.
