Londoners Sam Beste, Rahel Debebe-Dessalegne, Alex Reeve and Alexis Nunez are Hejira. They make evocative, scratchy pop songs that sound like they’ve been unearthed from somewhere under a cold, wooden, candlelit floorboard and are just floating their way into the world, adjusting to the light. There’s something about the way the line, “I’m a gypsy of the soul,” is delivered that makes it somehow very believable.

They’re releasing the single exclusively on 7″ vinyl, with a cover of David Bowie’s weeping wall on the B-side, with which you’ll get a free download of both tracks plus two remixes—one by Matthew Herbert and the other by The Invisible. We love vinyl here at Art Wednesday, so are full behind this move. In it’s honour, we have 3 copies to give away, all you need to do is head to the Art Wednesday Facebook page, ‘like’ the post about this competition, and we’ll be in touch with the winners once they’re drawn.

‘Gypsy of the Soul’ is released on 15th November. For more info on Hejira, click [here]
