Given that it’s Friday we’re going to go out on a limb and assume that a good portion of you fine readers are preparing to, one way or another, bust a move this weekend. Whether you’re heading out or staying in, we have a sneaking suspicion that these tunes might help. The only difference, really, is that if you’re staying in, you can enjoy them in your pants. If you’re heading out, we’d advise otherwise.
Willy Moon signed to Jack White’s Third Man Records not too long ago, which puts him in the company of Radiohead and Beck. Not too shabby, ay? What’s great about Willy, is that not only are his tracks brilliant to begin with, but they also seem to lend themselves rather nicely to a remix or two. You may remember we included Sinden’s remix of this track in our 3 for free a while back. Well, we think this new remix blows Sinden’s one out of the water (sorry Sinden). If you don’t believe us, press play now and in about a minute and 20 seconds, you’ll understand.
If you’re a band called Dutch Uncles and you release a track called ‘Fester’, then you’re going to have to put up with a lot of Addams Family gags. Of course, we wouldn’t stoop that low. So without further ado, here’s Cousin Itt on drums, Lurch on bass, Thing on keyboard, Uncle Fester on guitar, and Grandmama on vocals!
Swim Deep have recently returned from tour with Spector, Splashh and Luls (here are our pics from the end of tour party). They’re from Birmingham but their songs reach far outside the concrete of the city. This particular remix of ‘Honey’ sounds like the beach, the waves, and the bubbles coming from your nose when you dive into the sea and see the sun’s rays spreading out under the water. Happy Friday!
